Alexandra C. Ritter
Alexandra C. Ritter is a partner at Moots Pellegrini Ritter & Cochrane. Alix handles Family Law matters for the firm, including divorce, custody, mediation, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, and post-judgment matters, with a particular focus on complex asset division, custody, mediation, and litigation.
Attorney Ritter started as an Associate at Moots Pellegrini, PC, where she handled both civil and family matters for the firm. Alix rejoins Moots Pellegrini Ritter & Cochrane after working as a partner at Dolan Divorce Lawyers and previously as a Senior Litigation Attorney at Cordell, LLP in Hartford, CT.
Alix appears regularly in many jurisdictions in Connecticut, including Danbury, Hartford, Waterbury, New Britain, New Haven, and Torrington. She has argued an appeal at the Connecticut Appellate Court and is a member of the Connecticut and American Bar Associations. Alix previously served on the Executive Committee of the Litchfield County Bar Association and is a member of several local bar associations within the State. Alix serves as a Family Law Special Master in Hartford, New Britain, and Danbury Courts.
Attorney Ritter was selected to the New England Super Lawyers Rising Star list in 2023.
Alix was born in Copenhagen, Denmark and returned to the US as a young child. She attended the University of Kansas to obtain a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Psychology and Sociology and an emphasis in Forensics Psychology. Alix subsequently received her Juris Doctorate from Washburn University School of Law, where she was a Legal Intern with the Washburn Law Clinic, and a member of the International Legal Society. Following two study abroad programs during law school, Alix went on to complete her LL.M. in International Commercial Law and Mediation at the University of Westminster in London, England.
Alix lived in London for six years following the completion of her LLM. She received her mediation accreditation from the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution and also worked at CEDR for three years coordinating training events and providing mediation and dispute resolution services in a wide variety of areas including landlord/tenant disputes, personal injury matters, and corporate disputes. Prior to returning to the States in 2009, Alix worked in the Dispute Resolution Department of Bird & Bird as a Client Relationship Executive coordinating legal matters for clients across Europe, Middle East & Africa.
